Fanfic - MindFrak  

Title: MindFrak
Rating: PG-13
Spoilers: Exodus;
Character: Lee, Bill, Dee;
Genre: angst;
Word Count: ~450
Disclaimer: the characters and the universe of “Battlestar Galactica” do not belong to me

A/N: I wrote it after Exodus I, but haven’t posted it on LJ yet. Please, forgive that it does not fit with later episodes – was written based on spoilers. But I still like the ending.

Summary: What if Lee and the Peggy left with the remnants of the Fleet. And the Galactica survived by some OTHER miracle. And a few other fanwanky 'whatifs'. And no, I don't hate Dualla, honestly I don't. Brutal.

“So good to have you back!” The Admiral couldn’t silence the joy at the sight of his son alive and well. Fatter even than before, but this was still his Lee, and Bill had been so scared he’d never see his boy again.

Sending him away on the mission to find Earth, with what little was left of humanity, without hope, could have caused a disster all by itself. But the Admiral soon learned there was more. Laura Roslin confided one day about what she'd done with Sharon's daughter. And that it occured to her, that the woman, who had been rising Hera was strangely similar to Dualla. Then they found a distroyed cylon BaseStar, and on it a few more copies of that model, and their worst fears were confirmed. Lee was alone out there, commanding a war-ship along with a cylon agent. Who also happened to be his wife. What was her purpose they could only guess.

The wife and the XO now stood beside her Commander in the Galactica’s hangar bay, smiling at the welcoming committee, as if she was returning to the family. Adama had to tell his son the truth. He needed to do it fast! He was glad they took one copy alive and kept it in their brig; he’d take Lee there, to show him. He was afraid Lee might take the news of his loved one being a cylon badly, probably refuse to believe it. But knowing the truth was the most important thing.

Bill Adama outstretched his arms, to greet his son. And as they held each other, he whispered into his ear, “Dualla is a cylon.”

Lee pulled away, looked into his father’s eyes. “Are you sure?”

“We have one in the brig” Adama whispered, pain and compassion filling his heart. I can take you there – he wanted to add, but never made it, because Lee pulled out his gun, aimed at Dualla’s head, and… fired.

The mess was dreadful, blood everywhere and pieces of tissue, but this was not the worst.

The worst was Lee’s expressionless face, as he turned back to his father and asked. “Can I see the one in the brig now?”

Okay, I'm cruel. Sorry to all Dualla fans out there.

You don't hate Dee? I don't believe you. ;)

I actually like the idea that Dee is a cylon and since one of them is supposed be revealed as a cylon this season, she's a better choice than most. =)

I liked this story.. Thanks for sharing.

Well it's a strange thing with Dee, but I really kind of like her. This was more to show how much Lee can get fraked up, than to be mean to poor Dualla. But maybe it was my inner hating self speaking? ;)

Have you seen one of the newest promos? "One will die, one will realize they are a cylon (...)"? It's pretty certain Dee will buy it, but maybe not? Maybe they'll make her a cylon? Remember when Leoben said "Adama is a cylon"? If he's swimming in the stream of time... Me hoping ;)

I have seen that promo and I actually had a dream last night that Lee was a cylon. Which would be cool in a fan fic sense, but not on the show. Making it Baltar would be so obvious, I'd be disappointed, yet I don't want it to be anyone but him.

I've heard rumors, but no spoilers. Rumors are that Dee and Sam die, but since Michael Trucco signed up for S4, it might just be Dee - which would free up Lee, just in time for the other rumor - and that is that Kara disappears and is probably the one that finds Earth. But I also heard that D'anna gets boxed so maybe she's the one that dies - also anticlimactic if you ask me.

D'anna's boxing (or whatever) was obvious from the moment it was announced that LucyL signed a ten-episodes contract. They had to get rid of the multi-character somehow. I think that she's not any ot the ThreeFates, because that would really be anti-climatic. Although form the "fan" point of viev - I'd like her to be the one who "dies", because I don't give a damn about any of the Threes and I want my Six to be the front-player more. Have I ever mentioned that I love Six? Especially ChipSix. (That's why I was intrigued by your story from ages ago - the one, where Lee was trapped on OldCaprica... ;)

God, Interrupted - thanks. I liked the whole Lee/Six thing myself. I was giving some thought to another Lee/Six story.

I like chip/caprica Six too. I wouldn't want her to go.. I hope D'anna is the one that dies as well - it would be a let down from the hype but I just couldn't stand it if it were anyone else. =)

Hey girl! I loved this on a number of levels. First the title. Who all's mind frak: Admiral's thinking his son was going to be upset AND the reader's for the same reason.

Plus the "warning" right at the beginning, Lee fatter than ever. And at the end there's nothing left of him except all that body. That's what I saw; is that what you meant? Fantastic. Short and sweet and right between the eyes. One of your best, I think.

I'm not sure I meant "all that body", though I was somewhat fasctinated by the FatLee. The main mind frak was Dee frakking with Lee's head of course, while he was alone with her. The reason I wrote it was all that talking about how Kara was being frakked by Leoben. You know - my inner LeeFan is a jealous monster.

But I like the way you see it. It makes me feel I'm writing with layers or something. As in deep. Subconscious levels and such. And my ego is grooowing :). Thanks again.

I did get the Dee frakking with Lee's head, as I noted in another reply, so you got it across - that she had succeeded in her mission. Love multi-layered fics, especially in something so short.
