Firstly the weekly w-count, that is lame this week. Only 4174, but overall I’m still ahead of the goal (which after four weeks is 21000) with 21212. Lovely number, but as you can see my “ahead” is just-just.
Now, two quotes of
martyn44 , because they seem to fit together in one general meta.
“People like to read about people, at least some of whom they can empathise with” by David Gemmill,
and “I try to create sympathy for my characters, them turn the monsters loose” by Stephen King
And though I think Stephen King meant the outer monsters, I’ll talk about the inner ones.
...
Shame. But I took a day off yesterday. Planned to do that from Sunday, because I’m starting to feel overloaded. Then I got -- um -- distracted further by this and by that, but I think I wouldn’t convince myself to write anyway, because I had a pile up at work on top of that. And I am overloaded with this story. Maybe I should take a break and write something else for a while? I think I’ll stick with this project till the end of the
Anyway. I am now at:
In:
What gives - I should be writing 930 words daily.
Plotwise... Not even going to say it.

Oh, and btw, I’m really posting these weeklies for my own reference later, but it’s lovely that you comment on them f-list, makes me feel important somehow. THANK YOU! :*
And eta: I’ve just read a very nice comment on my story and got a new shiny nick-name for my character, so now I’m a little better. Thank you
Okay, I’m admitting this, I’m gonna finish this draft at the end of April, there’s no other way. But I can’t allow myself any leeway any more. Hmmm...
17434 / 100000 words. 17% done!
21 / 120 days. 18% gone!
Also:
However I count it, I'm behind with regards to time. Unless I admit I'm going to finish this in April.
Doesn't look so bad then. But I didn't think I'd have to admit to that in only second week.
I'm having trouble, because this is, like, seventh draft really, so I want it to be not-all-crap. I'm trying to write it well, think too much, don't let the words flow, and end up writing nothing. Today was a total disaster. Gotta try harder tomorrow then. Here's to tomorrows!
Need to post this for self for future reference. Re-posted from
Will be cheating now: 9069
9069 / 100000 words. 9% done!
I'm cheating, because I started mid-December, but the progress is a progress...
7 / 90 days. 8% passed!
9% prevails over 8%, so I'm still ahead, though not much. :(
On the other hand I've always though I'll finish this at the end of April, not March. But for now I'll believe I can do it within the Ni90 round.
Oh, whatever!
The weekend was fruitful. I nearly finished the draft for chapter five, and had an idea... That I should write this chapter as a separate short story. Who knows? Perhaps I will.
.
My group won the clash with the magicians and their guard, though Lanard refused to kill the handsome, dangerous and actually dumb magician. And pissed off Karanach. Again. Then in the next chapter Morgan and Amos are remembering the moments they spent at the Waterfalls together. When she woke up, but not quite, and she didn't remember Ijana was missing. And she only noticed she was in Morgan's arms. And Amos is quite horny for a girl, so you know... Morgan isn't not-horny either, so together they were quite a handful for Tay, especially with Morgan's broken ribs. Anyway.
In the current chapter aside from remembering good ole times from several day ago, they also come across a burned and destroyed village. And that will be scary.
Done.
So basically I'm almost done with chapter four, Lanard and Wolf are found, Ijana learns that she has some magical abilities, though she considers this idea dumb. And I figured out that the dangerous and handsom magician is actually dumb as his ideas, and he'll be told that by his coleague. Ijana gets in "tele-empathical" contact with Wolf, and once the two magis find Echanon and other warriors, and Echanon stops worrying about them, they can finally start saving Ijana. What will make Amos very happy. If they are successfull of course. The battle come tomorrow.
Oh, words! 765, YAY!!!
I made around 300 words. ONLY!!! *banghead*
And they weren't on my main WiP either, but on that other story, that is (wow) in English. And is rather untitled as of yet. Anyway I figured out the crew of a space ship of the recon squadron (that is rather nameless as well, but something with Virginia should be the name), on which Nathan Hadar is going to serve. Nathan Hadar has a name which is weird, isn't it? Or rather two names as his real one is Ilan Tehila Gal, but he wouldn't want his comrades and superiors to know that. For the reasons I won't get into right now.
Goodnight.
Today not much better, but better still. 489.
The group had finally decided to go off in search of it's lost members, but Amos - exhausted with worry - fell asleep. Echanon gladly left her behind in caring arms of Morgan, who couldn't go into a fight due to his injury, and Tay, who is not into fight in general.
Meanwhile Ijana woke up in a tent, under warm wool covers, and in a company of a very handsom and very dangerous magician. After telling her she was not a magician, what she had known since she was born, he put her to sleep again. Bastard.
And these were fruity words, because Echanon managed to re-think his actions leading to Wolf's dismisal and his subsequent disappearance at the hands of the enemy magicians; Lehtar managed to be constructively critical, and Karanach managed to be unconstructively critical; Morgan managed to throw a stick at Karanach; and Amos got realy pissed off that nobody cares about her sister.
Next installment probably next Tuesday, unless I manage to get access to internet in that wilderness at my in-laws, where I'm gonna be over the weeked.
Gotta make myself mory "happy icons" since I'm now posting more than those gloomy fanfic. :)
772. Doesn't seem bad, but the actual new words were not more than 500, so it's mock-worthy, since it's LESS than 750.
What happened? Morgan still complained, then Elin and Lehtar found the Waterfalls, then Karanach with the band-leader Echanon got there too, and then Morgan with Tay and Amos joined them. Also Mati was found, only I changed his name to Maqi. Equally stupid, but less. Now Echanon, ridden with guilt, will organize a party to save Ijana and the two magicians: Wolf and Lanard, though about two thousand words ago he threw Wolf out of the team. And that's the whole team, by the way. Amos is panicked.
